In Jim Collins book ” Good to Great” there are several points that resonate with most employers and one is ” to get the right people on the bus.”   If you have not read this book and I suggest to anyone who is in business please add this to your reading list…. this quote is stating that one of the goals of any company should be to get the right people into the organization and to find the right positions for them based on their skills.  Sometimes, this requires instituting temporary measures that may create short term inconveniences or changing the organizations structure but by putting the “who” before the “what” or as Mr Collins writes ” First get the right people on the bus, then figure out where to drive the bus” you won’t steer your company in the wrong direction.  Organizations fortunate enough to have the right people on the bus do not have to worry about managing or motivating these employees which gives companies more time to focus on other aspects of their business.  The right people can even help manage the business if given the opportunity to do so.
